What is meditating? What are the reasons to meditate? And how does meditation help children?
What is meditating? It is finding the right place, at the right moment, where “something” connects in your interior and is like the “spark of the ignition”, it is the touch of light that makes you more aware of yourself, of your place in the universe and your relationship with the environment. That fraction of a second is the wonderful feeling of feeling connected to whatever you are feeling. “To meditate is to find yourself and your relationship with the wisdom of the environment …”, says Kia Scherr.
Reasons to meditate? Most people have their own needs and reasons: manage stress, be and feel healthier, even stay younger, because by meditating you keep alert of the sensations and needs of your body, taking care of it, improving the Blood pressure and increase concentration, seek to be happy, find the harmonic balance and you place in that space.
How to teach children and young people to connect, to know themselves and to be happy? Children by nature have their minds constantly expanding; Working first with your breathing you will begin to be aware of your “inner spark”, of your body and you will become quieter. With practice they can begin to be more resilient, to know more about their inner strength, to feel unconditional love, they will know how to project and how to lead that inner strength responsibly and they will become happier children.
What happens to that “connection” physiologically? It takes time to know oneself and expand knowledge, little by little new neurological paths are created in each being. They are like circuits that are built in the body and that cause you to feel motivated, happy, at peace and aware of what surrounds you. With meditation, these circuits expand and become involved with brain chemistry, promoting a balance.
